Deciding to quit PhD is a major decision, once in a lifetime. Writing elaborately on all aspects related to it is wonderful, and very educative. I would like to offer comments in detail. I have several useful experiences to share, since I have spent nwo over 50 years in an academic atmosphere in a research institution where scores of scientists and engineers did their PhD work, and some did notably well. I received my own PhD in 1975.

Since this article was wrtten 12 months ago, will my long comment be stale, at this late stage, and people may not read it. Or should I write my own MEDIUM article. I have written two before.
